The Internet and telecommunications industry is showing signs of growth as Spain seeks to exploit its e-commerce potential. As well as being a leader in the free ISP market, mobile telephony has emerged as the largest and fastest-growing segment in the telecommunications sector.

The Spanish authorities are putting their backing into many high-tech schemes; most notably towards creating a ‘high-tech hub’ in Barcelona.
