| Once
the strategic planning and research has been completed
a clearer picture of your companys growth will emerge.
As part of this there will be a number of partner types
which will suit different companies and different countries.
SSP can advise you on what model will provide your company
with the greatest returns.
Master
Distributor
A
master distributor will perhaps be your sole presence
in the market. They will have experience of distributing
products complementary to your own and will provide
a certain amount of support both pre and post sale.
Strategic
Partner
In
some cases it might be advisable to enter into several
strategic partnerships with companies who develop and
market software similar or complementary to your own.
This could take the form of a technical software integration.
Value-Added
Reseller
Traditionally
a VAR will take a business software product and combine
this with other services to provide turnkey systems
solutions for specific industries. This need not be
a vertical market only. There are now horizontal
VARs supplying, for instance, database applications
or CRM products.
Systems
Integrators
Becoming
prevalent in many markets. A specifically designed,
project based approach providing a customised solution.
The advantages of this type of partner are its strategic
alliances, project management skills and integration
skills.
OEM
Partnership
Refers
to a situation where a company licenses technology for
use in a combined software solution using the OEMs
name. This can often be very succcessful where the OEM
is well known in that market.
Joint
Venture
Where
two or more companies agree to put up equity in order
to create a new company. SSP can use its knowledge to
find the right partner and advise on the joint venture
contract.
